Was able to remove WIN32:malware-gen with ComboFix alone - Thanks Essexboy!!

Hi all, just thought I should make this post as may boost someone else’s confidence in the instructions given on the forum. My PC was infected by 80000000.@ and 00000001.@ (Identified as WIN32:malware-gen by Avast!) and I could not get rid of them using Malwarebytes, Microsoft Security Essentials, McAfee (paid version) and others. Evenstill, all Avast did was move them into Chest continuously as all it’s scan varieties (Full, Boot) did not eliminate the root cause.

All I did was run ComboFix as illustrated on one of the threads with Essexboy’s instruction to other Malware-gen/virus victims. And voila! My PC is now as good as NEW! Well, I mean virus/spyware free! So thanks for your help.

You need to be carefull when using combofix as it is very powerful and on rare ocassions can make mistakes ;D
