Cannot get updates when using my WatchGuard firewall. Is there ports that I need to open? >:(

I haven’t heard of watchguard firewall, but it isn’t so much the port but the process that you would need to allow.

Does it allow avast.setup internet access ?

  • If it does delete the entry for it and do a manual update (right click the avast ‘a’ icon, select Updating, iAVS Update), this will force the firewall to ask permission again.

I had never heard of WatchGuard firewall neither but it seems it has been around about 10 years and is used mostly at the enterprise/institutional level. Depending on the version, it may also include an AV module. So, we need to know the version mcsedude is using.
