Waterfox 64 bit browser

For those of you with 64 bit systems an love your Firefox you may like to try this http://waterfoxproj.sourceforge.net/downloads all the firefox addons work well and it runs lighter and faster than firefox and iv not found any instability issues as i did with the Palemoon 64 bit mozilla based browser.
Note that i haven’t tried it with webrep.

Thanks Craig, we’ll give it a try.

Most appreciated!

Dont forget to install visual c++ 10 first which is available at the top of the download page.

I can’t get Gmail phone service to work in Waterfox.

I often wonder about all of these “…fox” firefox clones…(or whatever you want to call them…)

If they are that good at running faster, or better, wouldn’t the code be incorporated into firefox builds? (i.e. What benefit do they really have over just the normal Firefox.)

Try using Google’s Chrome. It works well when that browser is installed. ;D ;D ;D

Gmail phone service works great in Opera! But there isn’t a 64bit version of Opera.

IE 64 can’t be made default.

No Google Chrome 64bit.

::slight_smile:

Interesting. Im giving it a test run.
It seems like you can’t run Waterfox and Firefox at the same time. If waterfox is running and you open firefox, a new Waterfox window opens.

Well essentially waterfox is firefox, just an optimised 64 bit version of it so i would think that you’ll have to choose between one or the other to have installed in your system.
Being so similar in there design one must overide the other, could also be from having waterfox set as default browser.

At the top of the download page it states that waterfox uses the same profile as firefox.

“Elementary my dear Watson” Water puts out fire. ;D

Hahaha I know huh.
If i close waterfox, then open firefox, Firefox is back
Only one can live! hahaha

This an extraordinary find. The full utilization of the Windows 64 bit OS. Like opening a door to a faster universe. A resolute rebuke to those who say there is no need or marked improvement in 64 bit computing. Let the future begin.

I like Waterfox, using 8.0.1.

Will probably make it my default when 64bit Google voice comes out.

P. S.

All browsers copy Opera. I guess nobody else has an original idea? ::slight_smile:

The first thing I noticed when I downloaded Waterfox is the “stolen” idea from Opera in the upper left-hand corner of the screen.
