Hi all, Is there a way to disable Safezone from within Avast Pro? I’m using V8, and it has been too problematic to use since V7. I’ve posted threads asking for help since V7, but got noware, so why have it on?

You could go to Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall > Avast > Change > untick Safe zone and proceed… You get the option of choosing what features you wish to install when you do a custom installation.

Safezone is not meant to be an everyday browser.
It is meant for secure transactions such as banking and internet payments.

i must say I find it a bit too intrusive for my needs. And when I did try it it seemed to slow down my browsing significantly and totally locked up when downloading a bank statement PDF
For me it would be better if you had the option to select eg from the avast site rating icon in chrome rather than the banner that pops up on every site
good that you can disable from control panel though - this should be added to the help pages if anyone can?
Please note that the instruction described in here does NOT turn off SafeZone. It gives you instructions on how to REMOVE SafeZone.
Removed. Installed Sandboxie, and run my Bank site sandboxed.
Why install a 3rd party program that is not compatible with many AV programs, ( including avast) when you already have a sandbox provided with your avast antivirus?
Sandboxie is compatible, and I like it better.
Btw, you can disable the offer either for the particular domain or completely in the plugin setttings (without having to uninstall anything) - but you’d need v9 for that, it’s not present in avast! 8.
