As our way of saying thanks for completing the checkup by 17 February 2015, we’ll give you a permanent 2 gigabyte bump in your Google Drive storage plan.
I have a shed full of google services and I had never applied for Google Drive, but I think I ended up with it without asking. I haven’t used any of the existing storage, being a trusting sort (NOT), I rarely even use my Dropbox free account with 2GB.
I have a problem with things like, who owns the data, as I have seen some pretty draconian T&C of use. Despite the so called safeguards I don’t trust anyone to look after my data and all I store on dropbox is usually unclassified/non-confidential stuff.
Mainly I stick program updates on there so it syncs with my netbook so I don’t have to download again. I currently have a grand total of 1.73MB on dropbox ;D
Like David, I’m pretty careful about storing sensitive information in the cloud. I do have a Google Drive account, that I store a copy of all my old “standard” business docs (retired now), and I also have a copy of those on a stick that I keep in the safe.
Day-to-day, I use Dropbox for docs, pics, etc., that I sync between my iPhone, my Linux laptop, and this computer. I’ll probably pass on the security check, and I certainly don’t need the extra 2 gigs of storage - not using even close to what I have available now.
<Immediately looks up the definition of “hoarder” in the dictionary.>
Edit:
I see from another thread that you just passed the five year mark with the seminars. Congratulations! Hope you and the Mrs. are both happy, and in good health.
