There might be an incompatible app involved. What causes this and is there an update in the pipeline?
When we came home from holidays, the app just played for a sec, and then stopped to function.
Deleting and reinstalling did not bring the desired result. I am at wit’s end with this one.
Either it is a MS update that ran it into the ground or it is a conflicting app on the laptop or…???
I hope Avast AV has nothing to do with it.
Now it seems my wife is just too fond of this Microsoft’s Weather Live Tile app.
Or is it MS moving away from that apps technology here and it has been discontinued? :o
Anyone who knows more about the cause of this problem,
is invited to come up with a solution that solves the hick-up.
Is this weather app on the same system with Adguard Pol? if so there is a possibility that Stealth Mode may prevent it from working :-\ the weather app functions correctly with Adguard on my Win 10 though.
I have no restrictive software and extensions on two of my Win8 laptops.
Avast AV and just some 4 extensions in Google Chrome, so rather minimalistic, my wife does not join my hobby here,
She has a Win 8.1 laptop.
One of the two is a small notebook with 33 Gb, so CCleaner is on,
I use when travelling, in between a notebook and tablet.
More of my ‘retrictive’ flaws on my hobby and testing machine a Vista. Highest CPU 21-72%.
Maybe that was what your were pointing at.
So in that case my question is has MS left that apps technology, because I am not the only one with that problem in my country. You can read likewise questions from many more users. Some have solved the problem just by having the app with vertical strolling in stead of horizontal. I know Win10 does not have it anymore, same with the news app. I know a lot has gone into the cloud.
So who has turned restrictive here then? Like to turn the tables a bit here (and leave my Vista machine out of that discussion, my choice, my configuration)
Coming back to where Microsoft is going, no more free Outlook, Office for Students no longer free - only on annual subscription. A lot of the old MS goodies went. Media software from MS, where? A lot of machines coming out without CD-burners, just silent HD. Do they all want to go the Android way, and I think that is the platform that is more restrictive than ever. No discussion on adblocker tracking please, because tracking has to prevail (pay model), flawed security as seen to cable devices, open wifi, the one account for all services misery, etc. etc.
