Web agent hampers my upload's speed

Hello,
I have a FTTH internet connection at home and the web agent of Avast has a real bad impact on my upload speed.

This is a bandwith test when I turn off the web agent :

And this is the same test when the web agent is on :

May an update resolve this problem ? Another solution could be used ? (change a setting in the program…).
Or maybe I can use Avast with the web agent turned off safely ?

Thank you ^^

avast does NOT scan uploaded traffic. It’s strange such impact when avast isn’t even scanning it…
Any other security program that could interfere?

I have no other security program on my computer.
And when I perform the test I only turn off the web agent (others guys have experienced the same problem).

At the beginning I didn’t understand why my upload speed has felt down so suddenly, then I realised that I’ve changed my anti-virus from McAfee to Avast when this problem has appeared. And somebody on a forum says he has resolved the upload problems by turning off the web agent…

If the problem could not be solved by Avast’s staff, maybe the better solution for me is to change for another Anti-virus…

Another strange thing is that when I look to the web agent’s graph, it seems that it scans my upoload…

Did you turn off P2P programs(Utorrent,Cabos…)?

Have a nice day

I don’t have such program on my computer

Tests are performed in ethernet with no other internet traffic.

Hi

Try to check your speed on this page…http://speedtest.si:8080/

Have a nice day

Can you try if McAfee left things behind?
This article provides the steps to remove SecurityCenter from your computer.

upload / download a big file like…WinXP SP3

do it 3-4-5 times with the shield on and the same with the shield off, and take the time on every download/ upload.

If there is little change in the time, then it is just the avast! shield that is fooling the Speedo at SpeedTest.net

I’ve used the removal tool and there is my bandwith test asking by JuninhoSlo :

Inicializacija . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . OK
izvajam 10s upload test (v smeri k internetu) 3.65Mb/s
izvajam 10s download test (v smeri k vam) 62.36Mb/s

Pondus : How and where can I upload the file to have a good idea of the upload speed ?

(after using the removal tool’s bandwith test’s results are the same as those of my 1st post…)

Pondus : How and where can I upload the file to have a good idea of the upload speed ?
you can try this http://www.filemail.com/default.aspx

or this if you have Hotmail http://windowslive.com/online/skydrive

I try it… The upload takes about 8min for a 650mega file with the web agent on and it takes less than 2min when it’s turning off…

I’ve solved my bandwith problem by installing Norton… Thank you again…
