Web and Mail blocked....please help

I just 2 days ago installed avast! 4.p Pro and have 2 issues which I’m sure are minor.
I’m running XP Pro with Service pack 3.
I was using AVG anti-virus and AdWatch with AdAware. These programs, I’ve only disablem them, not un-installed.
With avast! running all 8 protections, my web browsing is disabled until I stop the Web process in avast!
Same as Email, unless I stop the scan for incoming and outgoing email from Office Outlook, I get errors checking mail while using Pop Peeper.
Is there any way around this?
Do I lose protection by disabling the Web process and the Email scans?
Also, can I continue using AdWatch to pick up any Spyware and Trojans?

 Hi :

Should NOT have 2 different antivirus programs on a computer at the same
time, even IF One is “Disabled” because “conflicts” occur . Recommend you
use the “AVG Remover” at www.avg.com/download-tools .

Yeah…you were right.
Did a complete uninstall of AVG, now all’s fine.
Except, with the script blocking, am I able to stop the on screen scanner message across the bottom of my screen when I go to a new web page, and the script blocker scans?

Disable is not enough (in case of AVG) as you’ve already noted.

Probably due to AVG conflict…

Yes, somehow…

You can, but the detection rate of avast is already superior of Ad-aware.

It seems that you’ve changed the avast settings without knowing what you were doing…
This is an option disabled by default. You can turn it off going to the Standard Shield provider settings, Advanced tab an unchecking ‘Show detailed information on action performed’. You can do this for the other providers too.

As usual, I panicked before looking through everything.
Have turned off detailed info, and all’s well.
Thanks for everyone’s help.
