Hello all,
I recently got hit by antivirus Is, an annoying piece of malware, and while I removed it myself its an annoying thing to happen. If I purchase Avast antivirus will it protect me from these “drive by” attacks from web pages?
I have used AVG in the past and it didn’t stop this type of attack (AVG Internet security version 9).
I no longer use it which is why I’m looking for an alternative!

also, Avast is better than AVG and is indeed better in catching exploits and other such stuff
Avast AV PRO, FREE, and Internet Security all have good records of stopping malware and AV at the door unlike Norton, McAfee, and many other well known AV products. No AV product is 100% but Avast comes pretty darn close, and on top of that with the boot time scan problems that are difficult to remove while the OS is running can be removed during boot time scan.
