Web Sheild HTTPS Setting

Firefox version 40.0.2

I am having issues connecting to FACEBOOK and some other sites if I have the setting “ENABLE HTTPS SCANNING” checked in the WEB SHIELD.
(other issues include SECURE SOCKET CONNECTION ERRORS, CANT CONNECT TO SERVER ERRORS, MISSING FORMATTING (only text shows…mozilla forums, avast forums))

If I UNCHECK the “ENABLE HTTPS SCANNING”, everything is fine and dandy! ;D

MY QUESTION :o
Is it GOOD/BAD/INDIFFERENT to have that UNchecked?
