Web Shield blocks Fing (network mapper) and Printer control apps

In the current update, I cannot use 3 “go to” tools that I use every day

  1. “Fing” a network discovery tool. Since some of my home machines “migrate” IP addressees, I need to confirm where they are so I can cconnect to them. Discovery of certain hosts is not actually possible while the web shield is active.
  2. Printershare (allows me to print from apps that don’t otherwise support printing)
  3. HP “All in one printer control” app.

What happens is this simple: Fing can’t find my printer, an HP OfficeJet 8610, neither can printershare or the HP app, but only when the Avast Web Shield is active. Avast actually completely blocks ALL access to the printer, even it’s web interface. I turn off the web shield, and everything works again.

This has been tested on multiple android devices, which run different versions of Android (6.0 and 5.11). No Web Shield, No Problem. Yes Web Shield, Yes Problem.

are we actually talking about Avast Mobile Security here? If so I’d need screenshots of the detections, what browser do you use on each of the device etc.
