Hey everyone, my first post on these forums, hope I’m not getting anything wrong here!
So I’ve had some issues on my computer with connecting to certain websites (notably youtube.com and google.com). The specified websites would not load at all, but would never show an error, and the loading circle would never stop spinning. Other websites would appear to load fully, but the loading circle would never go away. After some working around with a very helpful person over on bleepingcomputer.com, the problem had been narrowed down to the Avast! antivirus web shield. It seems that turning it off fixes my problems.
Anyway, I’m not sure what to do… I don’t want to run around with my web shield off (I would reckon it’s the most important part of the antivirus to me, as I consider myself pretty savvy at not doing virus-inviting things on my computer), but it seems that I’m unable to access these websites with the shield on.
Any help? I guess I’m complaining that it’s not working, but I’m up for doing anything on my end if you guys think it’ll help.
P.S. I’ve uninstalled the avast program from my computer, and re-installed it since then, as part of the “trial-and-error” figuring out what the problem was. Is there any way I can get the key back so I don’t have to “purchase” another free license? Just being nitpicky here, as it’s free and I’ll deal with it if I have to. I don’t particularly like the idea of seeing a computer on my account that’s always offline.
