Having just installed Avast Home Edition yesterday and
having read the “Web Shield Issues” portion of FAQ’s, I was
wondering if any of the “filters” I am using ( not currently
running ) on my WebWasher Classic may conflict with Web
Shield’s “monitoring & filtering all HTTP traffic” ? The Web
Washer “filters” I’m using are : URL, Popup Windows,
Scripts, Animations, WebBugs, Referer, & Prefix . There are
limited descriptions of these filters on the WebWasher
site and NONE of them say anything about “HTTP”.
They also have settings for “Proxy-Engine” with “Client” &
“Server” available, but I have NOT checked either.
I don’t think both programs could be related.
Web Shield analyses all traffic passing thru a HTTP connection (between your browser and an Internet server).
Web Washer will clean cookies and browser steps left behind.
Do you have any specific trouble?
