just curious AGAIN…my avast!pro is working fine…i use two different excellent i.e.based browsers…maxathon and acoo…why does web shield scan(have the see detailed checked at the moment)on maxathon and on acoo it doesn’t…??? :
I don’t know acoo…
WebShield should scan any HTTP traffic, regardless of any browser or application that uses it…
Tech,
when the Webshield was first introduced it did indeed just scan all http traffic. However, after a number of issues it became clear that the avast team created (via VPS) a list of processes whose http traffic would be scanned (ie the browsers known to and tested by them) and otherwise the traffic was not. You have probably noticed the recent threads on non-scanning of http access by email clients as they render html pages.
It seems the avast team is looking again at this since some (at least) of the mail client rendering of html and the resulting http traffic is now being scanned by avast by default.
Perhaps this particular browser has not yet appeared on the avast team’s radar.
thanks for the replies…still will the acoo browser be safe to use…even if the web shield does’nt work on this particular browser…the standard shield and everything else is working just fine!!!the web shield works just fine with i.e. and maxathon… : :o ;D
Let’s see if interest of the avast team is aroused.
thanks for the nothing will help or anything reply!!!
Perhaps you will remember …
we are all here because we want to be.
If you want help and post replies like that … next time … you may go answerless.
My post was quite deliberate … only the avast team can tell us whether the acoo browser is something that is or is not (or perhaps ever will be) scanned.
sorry…didn’t mean to sound like a sa which i’m not…i really have appreciated the help avast!forum has given me…to make matters easier and to help people that need help on more tech stuff about avast! and etc…i took care of the matter and just uninstalled that acoo browser and will just use maxathon and i.e…have a good one
