Hello, I’ve had Avast for a few months now, but I’ve noticed recently that my built-in webcam has stopped working. I’ve looked through all my laptop settings, and the only conclusion I can draw is that Avast is somehow blocking my camera from turning on when I use apps like FaceTime, Teams or Zoom. Is there a way to fix this? I’ve seen threads talking about this issue before, but they don’t seem to be applicable as I do not have the “Webcam Protector” tab on my version of Avast.
First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member.
What are your Avast Firewall and Network Shield settings as this may be where the issue lies ?
If for example your web-cam is external to your system how does it connect, if by Wi-Fi it probably needs to be an exception in those settings.
I don’t use a web-cam or external device all connect by USB. So they are part of my local network, classed as Private (not Public), so I can’t speak from personal experience.
Hopefully these may help in determining what your settings need to be.
