Recently Chrome was taking a very long time to load the first site I tried to visit after it would open with Google as my homepage. After that initial delay things were fine but that delay was bothersome. By disabling the WebRep extension, that long load time is gone, at least for now.
Thought I would post this for others and maybe developers here.
Yes, I’m using the latest version of Avast and Chrome. Windows firewall. I did disable WebRep as I stated in my post which worked. Did not have this problem as I recall before so maybe it’s the latest Chrome version that’s the problem. Thanks for replying.
Open your Avast and then go to the “Additional Protection” and “browser protection” WebRep so some icons will appear in browsers, with it being just you clicking “uninstall” now Open your browser and go to the option chrome extensions
Open the folder files and programs> AVAST Software> Avast> WebRep> Chrome and find the file
AswWebRepChrome.crx drag and drop the file to the chrome extensions tab to pop up a window and click ok to add. ready.
check enabled and activated.
I was just asking, not challenging, because I don’t understand what your suggesting would do. I do appreciate all replies and apologize if I sounded anything but inquisitive.
With all due respect. Isn’t your suggestion like going around your elbow to get to your thumb? Just keep it simple.
See my reply above this one. No offense meant.
