Webrep Problem

I have a machine running Windows 7, with Service Pack 1 running the latest version of Avast 6.0.1000. Every time the machine is booted I get a pop up from Avast asking if I want to run Webrep. I click “No” and the machine finishes starting normally. But on the next boot Avast doesn’t seem to believe me that I don’t want Webrep and asks me again.

I’ve checked through the settings looking for a way to stop this but I haven’t been able to find any. Is there a way to stop this?

Thanks

Gene

Go to programs and functions, select avast installer, run it, select change installation and uncheck webrep.

This will remove webrep permanently.

Thanks for the quick reply, but it looks like its not the cure. I got into Avast’s install, unchecked Weprep, which changed the box from a “check” to an “x” and let it finish the change. Rebooted the machine and its still asking if I want to run Webrep. I tried it again, this time Webrep had a red “x” next to it so I changed it to a check and then back to the X and let it finish. Rebooted again and Avast is still asking if I want to run Webrep.

So any idea on the next possible solution?

Try this build…
Free AV: http://files.avast.com/files/beta/6.0.1044/setup_av_free.exe
Pro AV: http://files.avast.com/files/beta/6.0.1044/setup_av_pro.exe
Internet Security: http://files.avast.com/files/beta/6.0.1044/setup_ais.exe

Thanks, I’ll give it a try when I get a break latter today.

NP, Gene…!
Problem solved…??

Unfortunately I won’t get a chance to try it till this evening. My boss seems to have this strange idea that I should actually work at work!!!

I’ll drop a note here as soon as I give the new version a try.

Ok, no problem.
