I’ve just noticed that if I right-click Start, click Properties, Toolbar, and then click Avast WebRep to add it to the taskbar, nothing happens. When I go back to that list of toolbars, there’s no longer a check mark against Avast WebRep. Just curious about why that happens as, in all other respects, WebRep is working OK at the moment.
It is a throwback to how deeply integrated IE is into the OS that as the webrep is a toolbar, somehow it gets in to that list.
You can’t place a check-mark against it as it shouldn’t appear on the taskbar. If you uninstalled the webrep for IE (as I have don’t use IE) then you wouldn’t see this in the taskbar’s toolbar list.
So just ignore it it can’t be checked and doesn’t impact on its working within the IE browser.
