WEBROOT ANTISPY WITH ANTI VIRUS ?

I have been a fan of avast for a couple of years now. And I just installed webroot with the anti virus. … but I have turned off the anti virus in webroot, and just run the anti spy (I am hopeing )

do you think there will be any conflict ? I just missed avast “to much”

It seams ok so far. ???

yes there will be-you can have only 1 resident anti-virus program on your computer at one time or they will conflict 8) ::slight_smile:

do you think there will be any conflict
you can also use online scanners like this one which would be ok and not conflict.... http://www.kaspersky.com/kos/english/kavwebscan.html

For many AVs, just turning of the antivirus element isn’t enough. You may be better off uninstalling spysweeper reboot and do a custom install if it allows that and don’t select the antivirus element to be installed.

Some suites allow you to disable the elements/plug-ins my firewall does and when a plug-in is disabled it effectively doesn’t exist, but I don’t know enough about the webroot program to say. That is why I suggested a custom reinstall, just leaving the anti-spyware element.

Webroot's antivirus detection is powered by Sophos, known globally as a pioneer and industry leader in the fight against viruses. Together - you have the best protection possible against the top two security threats, spyware and viruses. One solution, twice the protection.

Based on this use of the Sophos for the antivirus solution, I would say a conflict could well arrise at some point.

Webroot Spysweeper. I purchased one year and i uninstalled it half yera later of purchase. It didn’t slowdown my PC, it freezed my PC,haha. A bloated app

For me, a good antispyware. A poor antivirus, imho.

Follow David’s suggestion if possible:

My ISP offers Webroot Spysweeper for free on one computer only. I tried it. It slowed my computer down. It is a good anti-spyware, but wasn’t any better than Spyware Terminator which doesn’t slow me down. ST is free for all on as many computers you own.
