My conf:
Win XP SP3
Avast free version 5.0.462, virus db version: 100321-1.
Avast Webshield does not work after I’ve updated it to version 5.
On definitly infected web sites.
Moreover… Avast does not find infected JS code even when i download those JS-files and scan them localy.
Ver.4 (or may be more older virus db?) was working fine.
have tested infected files on virustotal.com.
got right result only from 3 antivirus programs :
NOD32 4965 2010.03.22 JS/TrojanDownloader.Agent.NTN
TrendMicro 9.120.0.1004 2010.03.22 JS_ONLOAD.SMD
VirusBuster 5.0.27.0 2010.03.21 JS.Redirector.Gen
kindly give the address or the url of the websites u have been viewed…
Maybe the webshield of Avast did not detect it…
those websites have aready been “desinfected” (by myself).
But I can send some of those JS-files archived (RAR-archive with password).
Strange things!
Version 4 of Avast (exact version is unknown by now - a week ago) was able to detect that virus!
Than… after updating of Avast itself (to ver.5), OR updating virus db, OR after reinstalling OS (on cleared HDD) and SP3 on my PC - something happens…
I mean this virus was visible a week ago for both: for Avast Webshield and for local Avast scaner.
