Hi, every week a full scan is run according to a schedule. On completion I get a message stating some files are password protected and other files cannot be found (screen print enclosed in the attached Paint file).
I’m puzzled, if the file is unable to be found how can Avast! look for something that doesn’t exist?
Is there a way I can allow Avast! to scan these “archive” files?

well that is what avast is saying.....there is a referens to those file but when avast get there...nada
if you reboot and scan again this is often gone

files that can not be scanned are just that, it does not mean they are infected
and i think the swssetup belongs to default hp software....is this a hp computer?
files that can not be scanned are the most frequent asked question in this forum, so lots of info if you forum search…
if you put Your mouse pointer on the vertical bar just in front of “Severity” and dragg sideways, then you can see the full file path…
take New screenshot and post
1. - The reason given the information in your first post is that these are old streaming update files. These are removed after the next regular virus definitions update.
From the limited information in the image, ‘cannot find the path specified’ reason in this case is because the avast housekeeping has removed what are I believe old streaming updates (from the avast defs sub-folder). This happens when you received the next regular virus definitions update, they are removed. Whilst they were present at the start of the scan they aren’t when it gets to that folder.
