WEEKLY VIRUS SCAN

We are running the latest version of Avast 8.01603. We normally run virus scans every Sunday on all the servers. We’ve been having this issue with one of our servers that about 10 minutes into the scan, the avast service will stop running. This causes the server to have no internet connection until the Avast service is restarted. Which we can do either thru the services consoles, or by opening Avast and selecting Resolve All. We’ve already uninstalled and reinstalled Avast from this server twice. Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this issue? The service only stops itself during the scan.

Does the server have any mapped network drives?

Yes it does have one mapped drive to a share on another server.

Add a “\*” exclusion for the scan and check whether it is blocking again.
