My firewall keeps telling that ashMaiSv.exe wants to connect to d213-103-88-23.cust.tele2.fr . At first I let it do so but now I’m a bit suspicious why it wants to connect all the time to such a weird address? I don’t even have any e-mail-programs or connections running at the moment…
Sorry, friend, but I can’t find out the reason. :-\ Just wait for more answers from more advanced users. :-\ I’m sure you’ll get here the answer. Welcome to forum!
Have you tried to refuse connection permanently and when to send mail? I think it should work… I’m not sure, but I think ashMaiSv.exe should be using localhost only. Besides, if it’s INCOMING connection you should refuse it. It’s incoming or outgoing connection?
Normally ashMaiSv connects to the smtp server when sending mail. The strange thing was that I wasn’t even running any mail clients at the moment and that address was not even close to the smtp server I use. I don’t even usually use mail clients on this computer. It was an outgoing connection. Since I couldn’t find any spyware on my machine I think I’ll just stop wondering. Maybe there was a reason…
ashMaiSv.exe does not connect to any server on it’s own - it just forwards connections started by other processes. You should see the process that initiated this connection in the list.
