Weird bug: Can't do nothing with the file.

Hey guys. So, I got a trojan on my PC, and when avast! detects it, I can’t do anything at all with the file. Can’t move to the quarantine, can’t delete. The only way is to delete it manually. Is that a problem on my PC? Or is it because of the file?

Not such a worry, but I would like to hear a solution

What is your computer’s OS, is avast VPS up-to-date, what trojan was found, and where was it found?

I think I too have a similar bug, thats been eating my pc from quite some time…

This message comes up whenever I visit any website…I did a ful system scan as well as a boot-time scan, no go.

I have the latest version…4.7.1098. Using Win XP MCE (2005); …Lemme knw if u need any other info…

Please advice…

It is not the fact you are visiting any web site, but that something is trying to connect that particular web site (I assume that is the same url every time?).

I take it that you aren’t typing the url in the image?

So you would appear to have an undetected adware/spyware or browser hijack on your system.

If you haven’t already got this software (freeware), download, install, update and run it, preferably in safe mode. SUPERantispyware On-Demand only in free version.

It’s always found somewhere within the Windows folder. My avast! is up-to-date and it’s running on a XP SP2. I think that’s something quite similar of what that guy showed, but it always shows “A Trojan was detected!”.

Anyway, I followed David’s tip and it looks like it’s gone. Hope so

We hope so too ;D

I downloaded and ran a scan in safe mode, it found about 30 harmful items, but still no go. I updated avast again.

I still get the same error message…

And, as rightly pointed out; I dont go to that site…it just comes up for everysite, and when I click “abort connection” or exit that message, i can then browse, but sometimes i get another window(using Opera Browser; v9.25): “the document has moved here” when i click; here…it goes to the website, showing the pic below.

I tried the same in IE, same; only difference is I dont get the message: “the document has moved here…”

Please help…and lemme knw if u need any further and particular info to track this down…

Hi devilstrings -

Please download HijackThis from the link below, run the program but do not make any fixes, and then post the log results in this thread using the “copy & paste” method. It will probably take more than one post to be able to get the complete log posted. Someone will review your log and then offer help.
