Weird graphical issues post-R2 SP1 (build number 2015.10.2.2215) install

Alright, I’ve already been discussing this issue with davexnet over here https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=168694.0 He suggested if I had no luck with System Restore to post a new thread here.

My original issue:
My free copy of Avast requested to update to this version and immediately upon restarting (and it’s persisted with restarts) the fonts in my browser (Firefox) and all fonts across Office 2013 are messed up. To clarify, they appear thin, smaller, and vaguely distorted.

Solutions I’ve tried:
Uninstalling and reinstalling Avast (additionally, using the avastclean uninstaller instead of add/remove… I just figured it would do a more thorough job.)
Full scan with MalwareBytes
sfc /scannow
chkdsk /f (twice now)
Using Autoruns to disable all startup items
(While startups were disabled) I followed the instructions to repair font installation
I did this twice, once rebooting straight to regular Windows, and again into safe mode first.
Combofix
Upon realising I couldn’t open the settings programs for either graphics unit I tried system restore from several prior dates and it wouldn’t work - tried every relevant suggestion I could find online to resolve the system restore error.
Giving up on system restore, I tried removing the drivers for my graphics cards and reinstalling them.

I can now access the control panels for my graphics cards again. The graphical issues, for the moment at least, don’t appear to be occuring on my power-saving GPU and they’re not currently apparent in Firefox but have grown worse in Office.
Here’s a screen capture of what happens: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJa7Ap9XHRo&feature=youtu.be

I’m thinking maybe if I reinstall Office? Does Avast interfere with/install any common/shared software components that could be responsible (e.g. .NET)?

Would greatly appreciate your assistance. Thanks.

Try another graphics card.
