Well this is embarassing:Avast Interface failed to open not protected.

Ever since upgrading to the latest Avast a few weeks ago my computer running Windows 7 has been left vulnerable by my Avast Internet Security failing to load. I have no idea how to sort this out and am very frustrated. I am a lomg time paying customer of Avast but I will not be dealing any further with you if this is not sorted out.

Can anyone tell me what the hell is going on and how to fix it please.

  • Which AV(s) did you use before Avast…?

Do u try repair?
Repair Avast:

  1. Control Panel → Add/Remove programs → Avast
  2. Click on ‘Repair’.
  3. Follow instructions.
  4. Reboot.

Thanks I will try these.Running Security essentials too. The version I am using is 2017. Used previous year versions before that.

First, be sure to get rid of all remnants of your prior installed AV(s)…!!

Then:

  1. Download Avast Internet Security: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_internet_security_setup_offline.exe
  2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.
