thanks Pete.
I am at 3.5.1 firefox,with no problems,so maybe i have been there.
It is the Java update that I dread.
They hardly ever go smooth for me.
You are welcome
I also use Firefox 3.5.1 . The security issue is confirmed in version 3.0.12 and 3.5.1. Other versions may also be affected. Hope this is fixed soon .
Yep installing java can be a pain at times.
I uninstall old version
Use JavaRa to clean up http://raproducts.org/
Reboot
Install New version. works okay for me anyway
If your Sun Java is up to date (SE 6, I’ve got Update 13 and didn’t feel I needed 14), you should no longer need to uninstall the old version first, as used to be the case.
As of about 2 or 3 updates back, Java no longer installs new “updates” (actually, full versions) in new folders, so that you had multiple versions each in its own folder, but now re-uses the same folder for them so that older versions of all appropriate files are over-written.
Please correct me if I’m wrong, of course.
