I suppose “Remote share” means network share files. Something like \192.168.0.2\Share\data.txt
Just called avast! tech support, no dice. They suggested i look in the downloadable manual. Downloaded the manual. No dice.
Tried creating a support ticket, support server issues.
What could this option do?
That seems a reasonable supposition.

Anyone care to try to clarify this / elaborate?
Remote share, network drive, network share (as opposed to local disk and removable devices)… that’s the place where the files are not scanned if this option is enabled.
