What are the infects of these virus's?

Well i was just scanning a few files and got a few infected warnings from avast the files i scanned had the following virus’s in them

Win32:Polipos [Wrm]

Win32:VB-IDF [trj]

im just wondering are those virus’s very harmful to your computer? Do they infects other files like some other virus do like Win32:Parite B

Polipos seems to be a file infector, yes. The other one seems to be a Trojan downloader- downloading other malware.
