I recently downloaded Avast 4.7. However, I am having issues with Southwest Ding working properly…or actually, it’s not working at all. Though, I am able to connect to Southwest.com through IE, I am not able to update my registration in the Ding window…when I try the message reads…
cannot connect to Southwest
I am connected through DSL. Any words from the wise on what it is I need to do for my Ding to work properly?

avast! is an AV program. It scans your activity. It doesn’t block it.
This sounds like something caused by either your Firewall or your router.
Perhaps if you gave us more information about your system and what security programs
you’re using, we might be able to give you some more precise instructions.
If you are using a personal firewall application (i.e.: Zone Alarm?, Norton Internet Security?, etc.) check your configuration to make sure that access is enabled for the following URL’s: southwest.com and ding.southwest.com and that you have allowed access to the DING! program.
If you are using DING! from a work location and you have a connection error, the cause could be your corporate firewall. You will need to contact your Information Technology help desk for assistance. You may ask them to grant you access to the URL’s listed above.
