What do I do now?

Hi,
My daughter was using Windows Media Player and all of a sudden the alarm started going off sayng I had a Virus or Trojan in this matter.

JS:TrojDnldr-1[ctrj]

This is the second time I have had Avast telling me I had a virus but when I clicked and told it to “fix” it said it could not, so along with the other virus amd this trojan above I put it in the chest.

What do I do now? and why is it that Avast cannot fix the things that it finds?

I’m just really confused on what to do.

Thanks,
Kenny

Only files infected with true virusses can be repaired, other malware almost any time just must be deleted.

What file is being detected as infected and what is its location?

mtrslib2[1].js
C:\WINDOWS\Tempory Internet Files.…

This is what is showing as infected files.
Is this all you need or is there somewhere else I need to look to give you more info?

Thank you so much for your help on this.

Kenny

If you look at the locatation, you will see it is a temporary file. So it is safe to delete it. In fact all files in that folder which aren’t in use can be deleted without causing problems.

Since you already have moved them to the virus chest, you can delete them from there.

Thank you for your help on this
