I have just completed a full system scan & it indicates no viruses were found…however,
it then say ‘not all files could be scanned’. It appeared to be one item as follows:
Thank you for your reply.
No, I did not install anything Spoon(?) that I am aware of. I have never heard of it.
I did try to locate the file & under my Documents & Settings there was a file App
Data. I clicked on it to open and there was nothing inside or at least nothing that appeared. No text inside of any kind.
So, I have no clue. Guess I’ll just leave it alone. Not sure what action to take when it comes up in the Scan. Such as delete, move to chest, leave alone.
I’ll just leave it alone unless someone else here lets me know some action should be taken.
I would check add remove programs and see if there is anything there for Spoon or anything related to Xenocode Virtualization Runtime from Code Systems Corporation.
Of course it is possibly that this may have been installed by some other software requiring virtualisation, etc…
Thank you. You are so right. It is in my Programs called Spoon Sandbox Manager. Have no idea why it’s there or how it got there.
Apparently this was originally Xenocode & has now changed to Spoon Studio
Do I need this at all? Is it possible I need it for something I am running?
Is there some portion of this app being used in the Avast Anti-Virus? I would hate to delete something I really need.
Thank you for your help!
Here’s what I found:
Spoon
Description from the manufacturer:
Spoon virtualization lets you run desktop apps anywhere with no installs – at work, at home, or on the road.
Spoon Studio was previously named Virtual Application Studio and manufactured by Xenocode, a Code Systems Corporation company.
Manufacturer: Spoon
Novell ZENworks Application Virtualization solution is also based on Xenocode’s virtualization technology.
Well if you aren’t using a sandbox of any sort I don’t see why you would need to have a sandbox manager.
So based on the program description you should have an idea if you have a) every used it ro b) have a need for it, unfortunately I can’t make that decision.
