what does malwarebyte cover that avast free doesn't?

reinstalling computer right now and I am considering whether to install malwarebyte again because it hasn’t detect anything on my computer at all in the last round.

what exactly does malwarebyte detect on my computer that avast doesn’t catch with file guard, web guard, and whatnot?

I am running a software firewall already and that blocks unauthorized connections, plus avast and maybe malwarebyte, but my computer is a low end one and I am considering freeing up some memory for that.

u can help avast improve detection by sending the viruses MBAM detects that avast doesnt find…MBAM is a great side kick to your antivirus…

Hi MuffinMan,

They are both good anti-malware products and can be used together for double-checking of malware. :slight_smile:

MuffinMan.
You can use Mbam for an on-demand scanner ( whenever you want to check) which I use. I have Mbam Pro but don’t run real time protection so there isn’t any resources (Memory) used.
Mbam> malware specialist
Avast> anti virus specialty :wink:

Mbam> malware specialist Avast> anti virus specialty
what is the difference. ::)

I think you’d be the better person to answer that question. :slight_smile:
THe statement wasn’t meant to be technical. Its all bad stuff. :wink: :smiley: :smiley:

they overlap......and no security program have 100% detection malwarebytes only look for executable files......and they want there samples fresh...not older then 3 months
