What happens to avast if I install a new OS?

Hi, as the title suggest, I would like to know what happens if I need to install a new OS and want to use the already purchased avast?
Do I need a new license or do I just use the old one again?

If you’re upgrading to Windows 10, make sure that you’re running the latest version of Avast
and do the upgrade. No need to remove Avast. It will be there protecting you once the upgrade is complete.
