I can now see that the on-Access scanner message only comes on when I do something. Each time I go to a new site, open a program etc. I can see that the files in that windows have to do with the action I am doing. Since it covers 1/3 to 1/2 page sometimes, I will turn it off again. It does not come on when the computer is idle.
The run time shows under all categories of shields. So it is supposed to run indefenitely?
So since the program run a quick scan every time I do something, does it not do a big scan once in a while? I usually have previous programs set to scan once a week.
I really appreciate all you guys help. This virus program is different than all other I have used. Looks different, works different.
You can change the letter size, the number of the messages, the transparency of them… etc.
Click ‘Settings’ in my signature and browse for the proper avast4.ini file section.
Sure… this is an antivirus, it must be running all the time. Don’t worry, it just uses resources when needed.
The words aren’t quick or big here… on-access (resident) scanning is continuous, on-demand runs when you ask it to do so. You can run an on-demand once a month and it will be good 8)
There was a purpose for his checking the box as mentioned in an earlier post to find out what was being scanned, unfortunately he didn’t realise that the pop-us were the show detailed info at work.
