What is the status of Spybot Search & Destiy ? Still valid ?

I have malwarebytes installed but it’s been crashing on my box since version 150 -
is Spybot S&D still updated ? Mine says version 1.62 - it’s said that for years.

I’ve had good luck in the past with Malwarebytes (on demand) used to assist Avast,
but I can’t run it till I figure out why it’s crashing.

I guess I could install SuperAntiSpyware - still recommended ?

I think Spybot was maintained by a single person last I heard. Noble. Futile.

I would use SAS before that, in absence of MbaM. Anything but Spybot, poor Spybot is the walking dead, someone put it down, it is sad to see shuffling around, slow and rigid, a shadow of its former self.

That is a shame - thanks for the info.
I wasn’t able to find much info about it - it still seems there are updates from time to time.

Have you asked for help on the Mbam forums? Or at least report the problem to them, new version bugs get fixed quicker with more input.

Are you using the MBAM free or Pro (paid) version? If using the Pro version, you may need to add exclusions for MBAM in Avast that I can post for you.
