What router would you recommend?

I am on lookout for a good router that can handle streaming media, VOIP and (little) gaming satisfactorily. There are 6 computers on my home LAN, a play station and a SIEMENS Gigaset S685IP phone.

I had tried Dlink DIR-855 for about 1,5 years. It worked fine but recently recently started dropping out connection on 2.4 GHz band. Luckily the store agreed to take back for full refund.

I am currently using Linksys WRT610N but its interface is not as intuitive as it was with DIR-855. My son is reporting problems with 5 GHz band while playing games. I have choice to return to return this to the store within 30 days.

I am looking for a good wireless router. What would be your recommendation?

well im using a Linksys WRT54G2 not sure if that is to your needs but its presented no problems for me.

As far as G range is concerned, i’d go with WRT54GL any time. I’m using it and i’ve setup this router for all my friends and relatives. Just remember to upgrade it with Tomato firmware. Great price, excellent stability and features. Once you properly set it, there is no need to work with it. It can run for months without interventions.

I have the same router for about 5 yrs now and i am also satisfied. Has not been turned off or reset for more than a year now and working just fine.

Dlink is working fine for me ever since the history of my computer^^
