I’m sure this question has been asked and answered before, but my attempts to search the forums haven’t turned up anything helpful. A few minutes ago a small window popped up at the lower right-hand corner of my screen that said “Threat Detected.” I clicked on the “More Information” button, but it said it couldn’t find the additional data on the internet. The window disappeared before I could read the rest, but luckily a few seconds later it popped up again. All it said was that the threat was in uTorrent.exe, possibly identifying one of the peers listed with one of the torrents.
Is there any way I can find out what the threat was supposed to be, and where it was supposedly located?
have you rebooted since it happend? … if not, right click avast tray icon and select show last popup
in top right corner of popup is a pin, click it and pin it to screen if you need to
you can also sett popup time (how long you want it to stay on screen) in avast settings
Too late. This is a random thing. It only happens once in a couple of months. Something that should be put on the “wanted features” list is a plain language log file that gives full file name with complete path to the detected threat. In this case it looked like one of the peers on a torrent I was downloading, so I suppose what I would want is identication of the torrent. Maybe too much to ask for. I’ll keep this in mind and see if I can change the length of time warnings stay visible. Thanks for your help.
