Hi i like to translate Avast 5 into swedish and i like to know what program do you use to translate it i read somewere someone have a special program… what is its name? i dont need a key i can get one of my own if needed…
I am not too sure, but I think it is a passolo file…not sure how it works though…
Passolo is an tool to localize software including visualization. Beside the strings you could be able to preview dialogs for example. Pretty easy to use, as an translator you just need the free translator edition.
Somebody at Alwil needs to create the translation bundle (tbulicXXX) which can be opened within the translator edition. After translation the bundle will imported back to project and the translated target files could be generated. But it depends on their edition, because they need a licence for each created bundle (the licence will be freed after importing the corresponding bundle). So you might need to have patience.
But be aware, there could be a lot of strings to translate ;D But Passolo helps to minimize effort using repitions, so you do not need to translated multiple existing strings ![]()
Just wondering why Alwil does not translate the online help aswell using Passolo (Passolo supports HTML) ???
ok… witch ver of Passolo shoude i use? DL Passolo 2009 Translator Edition, SDL Passolo 2007 Translator Edition, PASSOLO 6.0 Translator Edition, etc?
Depends on the version Alwil uses, and if they are willing to send you a bundle ![]()
You are able to identify the version by the file extension: .tbulicXXX where tbu stands for Translation Bundle lic for licensed and XXX determines the version. .tbulic600 stands for Passsolo 6, .tbulic700 for SDL Passolo 2007 and .tbulic800 stands for SDL Passolo 2009.
ok how can i get in contact with them about it?
