Whats the secret to access the Chest

I see the feature has been added to Access the Virus Chest remotely from the ADNM, but I keep getting errors. I updated the client manually and still got the error (RPC).

Is this feature in development and not operational?

Doesn’t the client have a firewall enabled?

Winxp Firewall disabled and the others are Win2k with no firewall.

  1. Is the “remote chest” feature enabled for the computer group? (that’s on the Service page in the Computer Group’s properties). (also please note that after you enable it, is takes some time (a pop interval, i.e. by default 5-15 minutes) for the changes to be applied, unless you use the “Apply to computer” command.

  2. If it is, what exactly is the error message displyed when trying to connect to the remote chest?

The access to the chest is denied. RPC error. It is enabled in Services, and was applied at both the computer and group level.

And the operating system is?
Also, can you check if there’s the line

RemoteAccess=1

in the [Chest] section of the file \data\avast4.ini on the target machine (the machine with the chest).

At this particular location, I have been able to connect to a few workstations. There are two that I cannot connect to. Their Engine versions differ from the others. I tried the update managed product using the Whole Program option, but it did not update the Engine.
