What's your preferred Antispyware?

I want to see which antispyware is more popular, and also I wish to hear from you reason of your answer

Malwarebytes Antimalware (On-Demand)

MBAM on demand .

Umm i think its not 10bit but IObit Security 360^^

MBAM and SuperAntiSpyware^^

me too, all days I’m living in security forums!

Thank you tech

thanks for reply

but I think security is not cheap to use only free programs to protect our computers, IObit is a well known company, but still it’s not a trusted antispyware.

tnx!

Maybe you should start a new topic for new questions.

You can use Gadwin PrintScreen to get a screenshot (http://www.gadwin.com/printscreen/) or the free version of WinSnap 1.1.10 (http://www.filehippo.com/download_winsnap/?2173).

Welcome Omid…

MBAM on demand. +1

@.: L’ arc :. : Thanks.

You are always welcome.

I use Malwarebytes Antimalware (On-Demand + Real Time)
Microsoft Security Essentials (Windows Defender)
WinPatrol as a Security Monitor

I don’t use:
SUPERAntiSpyware
Spyware Terminator
Lavasoft Ad-Aware <== has not kept up with today’s Internet threats
antispyware module in your firewall program
SpyBot S&D <== has not kept up with today’s Internet threats

I use the MalwareBytes on demand scanner. The main reason is they seem to be staying on top of the newest threats better than the others.

A year ago I would have said SuperAntiSpyware. I also used to use smitfraudfix back then but the whole smitfraud thing seems to have died down in my world.

Malwarebytes 1.39 Free is On-Demand so +1 for him i wouldnt use real time if i got my AV. Spybot S&D done great in my old cpu but no deleted all. Windows Defender not bad but still decent on detection but still i turn it on for like if he catch something that the other wont. So im happy with my kit.

I prefer mbam to SAS. Mbam has more fp’s, especially stupid fp’s.

Thanks YoKenny for the nice answer
today I tested Ad-Aware after a long time, let it to scan my hard drive, else than some funny and very worse false positive and very low detection rate it could not do a good job.
SUPERAntiSpyware never found anything in my computer still after long time
but I like Spyware Terminator, I use it only as on demand scanner and the latest version is much more stable and also has a good detection rate (if you ignore Flase Positives!!) very fast scanning and high detection rate.
and about SpyBot S&D, it has helped me in my paste and it has no background process, so I don’t uninstall it and ignore it in my computer if one day I needed that!
but I don’t use Microsoft Security Essentials because it has conflict with my computer configuration. and also I’ve removed WinPatrol from auto-start because I’ve other programs which has WinPatrol features too.

Thanks

yeah, Thank you!

MBAM had so many false positive in my system, but not anymore, no more false positive in MBAM for me, and only poor detection rate in SAS

What do you think of spyware doctor?

it’s a good antispyware, it has good scanner and spyware definition is not bad too. but it’s heavy and not modern engine like new antispywares and some times it conflict with your other security software. but it’s my opinion and experience of that, our other experts can answer it better
for me it has a good detection rate, but it conflict with other programs and also slow down my windows. maybe free version of that which come wityh Google Pack can be a good on-demand scanner with few realtime components.

I hope our other friends tell us their opinion, because it’s my question too!

Hi Omid,

At the moment, since I am still getting used to my new pc and vista, I am only using Windows defender. I will install MBAM eventually though, it’s always good to have a second opinion and I think it seems to have the edge in that respect.

The problem being you only see part of the picture as some use more than one anti-spyware/malware. Since I had SAS before MBAM and I liked it, I purchased the SAS Pro version. I have stuck with it as the resident Anti-Spyware (AS) since you shouldn’t have two resident AS running and have MBAM as on-demand.
