I think you need to resend the key.
cuz’ I had the same question as well before.
But someone give me a website which is about key-resending while update 4.8 into 5.0.

The e-mail password?
In this website, you just provide the e-mail address that you registered before, and paste the old license key for references.
In order to make avast workers examine whether your license key conform to your e-mail address.
If it is all right, you may get a new license key.
No man, there is no need of new key… ur 4.8 home key will also work with 5.0 home !
