Looks like you are using the old Alpha version and Beta2 [5.0.188] is available:

Its best to un-install the Alpha version and do a fresh install.

I am using 4.8.1356.I want to know IF i can use security CENTER ALPHA (AVAST 5),CAN SOMEONE GIVE ME A LINK.WHEN AVAST 5 COMES NOT IN BETA?Avast5 final version is scheduled for release on What time? I want to try alpha edition.pls someone give a link.i don’t want av free.ok thanks for the answers.

there will be three products for the home user namely avast free, avast professional and avast suite (names might be different).

the suite version has the firewall. free version doesn’t have behavior shield and firewall. obviously pro version doesn’t have firewall but the remaining shields.

alpha version is the one used for testing the product internally in a company which develops or it is a devs version. beta is the one which public can use to test on their test machines and not live machines. so you better wait until version 5 is out of beta.

The last I heard was sometime in November but nothing definite. 4.8.1335 is working just fine for me so I’m not in any hurry for 5. Sure it will be nice when the final version gets here, but if past experience has taught me anything it’s that sometimes it’s better to just be grateful if what you’ve got is working good. ;D

@ norel: may be updating to 4.8.1356 is a good option in the meantime :wink:
