Second half of November according to the current schedule.
With a possible soft launch of the free AV (via a partner) a few weeks before that.
Thanks buddy. I love avast. I will download and install beta and will help you people to make it a better product.
However, It needs some improvement when it comes to few trojans like DNS changer. Avast has failed to detect that on my system.
here is my problem.
I am using Avast Home edition and is very good. However, I need something in avast which i call “Self-Protection”. So that when any attact by virus is caused, avast can protect itself. Also, i need something using which, if we are installing avast on virus infected PC, it should detect the virus and itself should not get infected.
The other problem i faced recently is because of trojans, there was something happened in my system because of which i was not able to surf using IE or FF. But was able to login to Gtalk and also surf the net using google chrome. I wondered why IE or FF was not working and why Google Chorme was working. IT was a Virus in my system for sure cauz CPU and RAM was 100% used when i logon to windows 7. Same was the condition even after 20 min from logon. I dont have any other softwares installed expect MS Office.
I scanned my laptop using avast boot scanner but it did not find anything.
i was not able to solve the problem and hence format my lappy.
I think you should start a new thread about this issue, as your title here is just about av5 release date…you can also post your questions about the beta in the beta section
