When full removal of Comodo FW fails and breaks the Internet connection..

Howdy malware fighters,

Working on a friend’s computer XP SP3 I tried to install another fw, and decided to try Safe Comodo, but the install failed somehow and this restricted the Internet connection because a safe fw blocks all.
Full removal of the Comodo bloatware can be a pain in the proverbial behind, as one can read here:
during cleansing out the program files and registry remainders ( http://forums.comodo.com/help_for_v3/full_removal_of_comodo_firewall_pro_3_with_safesurf_toolbar_if_regular_uninstall_method_fails-t17220.0.html ) of this fw after trying to uninstall via configuration type “fwconfig- uninstall”(without “” in the command window), restart Windows and then start the delete process on the files, another thing to do is Start → “Run”, command “CMD.EXE” give an enter, the enter “NET STOP WINMGMT/ Y” Enter “exit” and ENTER C:\windows\system32\wbem and delete folder “Repository” after reboot Windows Security Center will reset it, cleanse with ClearProg, try as a last resort to restore the Internet connection using this tool:
VB-Winfix 1.2
If your computer is free of malware and malcode and the uninstall procedure of Comodo acting as a legit trojan is the only problem, an easy solution is to system restore to a moment prior to when installation began, this solution works like a charm and almost instantly (do not forget to back-up data in between).
Good we have System Restore for these software hick-ups as an option in Windows,

There is a Comodo cleaner for the remnants that should work for most at http://forums.comodo.com/empty-t36499.0.html . Not sponsored by Comodo, though.

Hi sded,
