When I check my browser to protect it, it almost automatically unchecks itself.

Whilst I don’t use the AntiTrack product.
What browser are you talking about, it may help determine where the issue is.

If you have another browser does it work there ?

I’ve raised this issue with error message etc here:

During a chat with support in November I was told it’s a ‘known problem’, but no update since, still on latest version 1.6.3 released on 28 August.

Can you get this escalated with Avast at all, David?

Thanks

I have tried on another part of the forum, lets see if this draws some attention, I gave the link to your quoted text.

Thanks, David

You’re welcome, hopefully it will draw the required attention.

Hope of a fix this Spring, see post here:

I upgraded yesterday to Sequoia 15.4 on a new MacBook Air and downloaded Avast AntiTrack from my Ultimate subscription. I’m having precisely the same problems that others are having: Safari and Chrome uncheck themselves when I try to check them for “protect this browser”, and I get the same WebProxyProcess error. It has been spring of 2025 for three weeks now.

I get the exact same error message as Jingleman with Avast AntiTracker on my iMac (M3 - OS 15.4) but AntiTracker works fine without errors on my 2018 MacBook Pro (Intel - OS 15.4). Weird, but on my iMac the installer never asks to click AntiTracker “install helper” or update settings.

The error code is “Error occured changing tracking detection (WebProxyProcessError.terminated(“["status": 6, "retriesCount": 0, "standardError": , "shouldRelaunch": true]”))”

Ich habe die kostenlose testversion von AntiTrack als geschenk bekommen. Doch es erkennt Google Chrome nicht. Avast Anti Track lässt sich nicht zu Google Chrome hinzufügen :frowning: I received the free trial of AntiTrack as a gift, but it doesn’t recognize Google Chrome. I can’t add Avast AntiTrack to Google Chrome. :frowning:

@DavidR,

Please see my last update in the other thread.

Thanks for your previous input but there’s no point in wasting anymore time on a 10 month unsolved problem. Time to move a different product.

.: I transfered the files, music, etc., using Migration Assistant, from my 2019 MacBook Pro to my new 2025 MacBook Air. The same thing is happening to me. When I enable Digital Fingerprint Protection and go to Dashboard, the browsers uncheck themselves. On my 2019 MacBook, the browser protection is enabled on Safari, Opera, Firefox, and Chrome. They will not enable on my 2025 MacBook Air, which is using MacOS Sequoia 15.6.1. Is a fix in the near future??

Installed Avast Ultimate today and have the some problem. When I try to switch on the browser protection for Safari it automatically switches off again in just a few seconds. Seems this problem is already hanging for more than a year.

Hope Avast is solving this problem soon.
