When i turn on my Automatic Updates is does't gets on?!

Hi Guys’s, anyone help me please… the Automatic Updates feature is not operational. When going into the
Windows Security Center, I noticed that the Automatic Updates feature is
turned off. When I clicked on the “Turn on Automatic Updates” tab I get the
following message : "We’re sorry. The Security Center could not change your
Automatic Updates settings. To try changing these settings yourself , go to
System in Control Panel. On the Automatic Updates tab, select Automatic
(recommended), and then click OK ".

any sulotion for this thank in advance.

Did you try to set the service to be run as automatic?
I suggest an avast scanning (or boot time scanning with it) to check if you’re not infected.

As Tech mentioned, did you follow the advice and what where the results ???

avast did not detect any virus on my computer.

Did you change the service to automatic?

yes before my automatic update is working and my computer is permanently connected to the internet then i notice the windows warning that my automatic update is turn off…

now i install kaspersky the latest one trial only. the kaspersky detected a <Trojan.Monderb.tnz.> in windows system32

may be i have to format my computer

I suppose you’ve uninstalled avast before installing Kaspersky…
You can stay with avast and try full computer on-line scanning:
Kaspersky (very good detection rates)
ESET NOD32
Trendmicro housecall
F-Secure
BitDefender (free removal of the malware)

Or you can use the trial of Kaspersky to get clean.

I don’t know as I just had to reformat Windows because of update problems. This time I haven’t updated my faculatative updates, intel and stuff, I haven’t installed Comodo, and everything is fine. May be some updates are counter-producing in fact! Hmmm Microsoft…!! :o

yes before i install the kaspersky i unstall first the avast…

WOW! my problem is solved  only norton can solve my problem… i install the latest norton 2009 version now my computer is back to normal again

Well… have you installed Norton before? Was it installed while you’ve install avast?
Norton, more than a solution, could be the reason of your messed computer…

@ Tech, no this is my first time to install norton internet security 2009 trial version

I somehow think we’ve never gotten the whole story. ??? ??? ???

So, why are you crying? Is everything working?
Sorry that you’re not using avast anymore, but it’s your choice to keep one or another antivirus.

@ Tech, nop i’m using avast free version now 'cuz norton is only 15 trial ;D

Oh I see… So, are the automatic updates working now?
How did you uninstall Norton? Using the remover tool?

yep, so far so good
