I use the AVAST Free version.
After starting the PC, the task manager apparently shows all the associated utilities. (See attachement).
But when I start AVAST Desktop, the “egg timer” appears (see attachment).
I look in the Windows logs, comes several times:
“The timeout (30000 ms) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the avast! Tools service.”
Then several times later:
"The following service has repeatedly failed to respond to service control requests: Avast Antivirus
Check with the service manufacturer or system administrator about disabling the service until the problem is found.
The computer may need to be started in Safe Mode to disable the service."
I have no idea.
