that mean it should start within 3-4 months from now as testing also takes time.
Or maybe simply next year which I don’t think would happen… Because avast is working on avast version 7 and I don’t think they will offer protection which will be almost one year older(as they are working now)
I rather doubt there will be a firewall in avast free no matter what the version, what incentive would there be to purchase the Pro or AIS versions if you get everything in the free product.
Their model is freemium. They can’t release the premium part for free.
There are other models, like releasing other (completely different) paid products or services while one of them remains free.
I think a new version with more detection rate it a good reason to wait a new version.
If Avast 7 has cloud module it a good reason to migrate to new version with new engines and improvements.
More security more avast users ;).

I agree with you regarding avast! 7.x RTW however I think (hope)avast! 7.x beta like I stated in my post will be available while Windows 8 beta is being tested and before W8 RTM and/or RTW
