Hi there,

I am a fresh man for both avast and Linux. So where can I find a install guide for “avast! Linux Home Edition”?

Thank you!

Installation method will vary slightly depending on the linux distribution you using.

What distribution are you using?

It’s translate by Chinese version on my own, but just like that mean.
Is that cause the differential between 32bit and 64bit version?
Or if I install avast with .gz file, after I extract the file, what’s the next step?

Thanks for your help.

What you need to do is install providers of the above libraries.

The easiest way to get most of these is when installing fedora , tick software development.

I use the 32 bit Fedora 10, the only file i required was libexpat.so.0 which is provided by compat-expat1-1.95.8-4.i386.rpm

The hardway, is to work through what you need.

so for the first one,

as root or super user type in a terminal,

yum whatprovides ld-linux.so.2

Then install the suggested package.

next one,

yum whatprovides libICE.so.6

and so on.

Unless someone knows of a better way.
